Interested in Hot Policy Topics? Join the Heartland Papers discussion group, sponsored by the League of Women Voters Winnetka-Northfield-Kenilworth and the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library. The program meets on consecutive Monday afternoons 1-3 p.m. at the Winnetka Public Library, beginning on October 4 and continuing until October 25. Come as often as your schedule allows. The discussion will center on the Heartland Papers published by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. The First topic is "Mexican Immigration in the Midwest," and the second set of discussions will cover "Past Silos and Smokestacks: Transforming the Rural Economy in the Midwest." Both booklets available at the Web site: www.Globalmidwest.org/gm/Activities/Heartland_Papers. Or you can obtain a free copy by calling League member Arline Doblin at 847-446-4525 or contact Joan Fragen at joanmaur@aol.com
